The mintage of 916,000 places this coin somewhere between a rare date and a common date. Choice examples are scarce and true gems are rare. The present MS64+ comes from a PCGS population of four with only two finer. Honey gold surfaces feature a light grey patina circling the central devices. Gem-worthy luster cartwheels around the surfaces and accentuates the lovely razor-sharp details. While $20 coins are plagued with bag marks and abrasions due to their size, weight, and storage, this pleasant example escaped with no individually notable distractions.
