1879-S $20 PCGS MS62 ex: D.L. Hansen

An underrated San Francisco issue of which no gem graded pieces have survived. The 1879-S was a particularly challenging issue in Mint State before examples started returning to the United States from foreign bank hoards. Today several hundred Uncirculated examples exist, mainly at the MS-60 and MS-61 levels. Scarce still with the level of quality and eye appeal offered here, the crisply defined surfaces feature original pale green and rose accents and shine with lovely mint frost.
