Description
WELL STRUCK WITH LUSTER. ONLY 5 COINS GRADED HIGHER AT PCGS. THE HIGHEST IS MS62. CAC. All Liberty Eagles struck during the 1860s are rare coins. With that being said, the 1868 is actually one of the more frequently encoutered P-mint Tens from this decade. This issue is much rarer than the 1861, however, and most survivors from an original mintage of 10,630 pieces grade no higher than EF. Rare in AU, the 1868 is currently (December 2006) represented by only two Mint State coins at the major certification services.
