Description
A popular New Orleans mint issue. Only 98,000 coins were struck and far fewer survive. The bold satin luster is complemented by wonderfully bright medium gold surfaces. A light gold-grey patina surrounds the obverse peripheral, while the reverse boasts a pleasing sky-blue ring around the rim. The fields boast an almost prooflike look when rotating the coin in hand. A very attractive example for the grade with minimal chatter. Only nine examples have been graded finer by PCGS and NGC combined, making this a great contender for a high-end registry set or O-Mint gold cabinet. - Liberty Head $10
