1843 LIBERTY SEATED S$1, NO MOTTO MS64

VIRTUALLY GEM SURFACES. ONLY 2 MS64+ COINS GRADED HIGHER. Although limited by modern U.S. Mint standards, this issue's original mintage of 165,100 pieces is sizeable for a Silver Dollar struck during the 1840s. Indeed, the 1843 is one of the most frequently encountered No Motto Seated Dollars in today's market, and the issue is popular among type collectors. We caution buyers, however, that the vast majority of survivors are worn to one degree or another. Mint State examples are very rare and, as of January 2007, none have been certified finer than MS-64 by either NGC or PCGS.
