A well-detailed and more affordable example of this rare, low mintage issue. Just 80,000 business strikes, but much scarcer than even the mintage suggests. PCGS reports only 15 finer than the present offering! Evenly worn with plenty of boldness and luster remaining beneath a natural golden patina. The reverse has a large S mintmark that fills nearly the full space between the eagle and the denomination on this variety that is the only identified die pair.
