The penultimate Philadelphia Mint issue in the Stars Obverse portion of the Seated Dime series, the 1859 is a scarcer issue with just 429,200 business strikes produced. Survivors are typically offered heavily circulated, and even EF and AU examples are relatively scarce. In Mint State, the 1859 is decidedly so, and such coins would make a significant addition to a better-date type set or an impressive investment portfolio.
