Only 180,750 1862-S dimes were struck, and they entered circulation where they remained until lost or worn out. Elusive in Mint State, this is one of only a handful uncirculated examples graded by PCGS. Satiny in texture, the surfaces are free of noteworthy marks and are richly toned with deep blue-grey color framing boldly struck central motifs.
