Description

GEM SATIN WHITE LUSTROUS SURFACES. KEY DATE IN THIS STATE OF PRESERVATION. TIED FOR HIGHEST GRADED AT PCGS. The United States' slackening post-war economy resulted in a substantially lower delivery of Dimes from the Denver Mint in 1919 as opposed to 1918. Just shy of 10 million coins were produced in the former year, the vast majority of which appear to have entered circulation and remained there for many years. Indeed, the '19-D can only be considered plentiful in the lowest circulated grades. Mint State survivors of marginal quality are usually available with patience, but high-grade examples are scarce or rare depending on whether they possess Full Bands striking detail.
