It was Hirohito that led Japan during World War II. The cherry blossoms on the obverse symbolize innocence, simplicity and rebirth. The reverse features a pair of Phoenix that are meant to symbolize a period of peace and prosperity, and the transition to a new Emperor. Each 50 Sen was struck in 4.95 grams of 72% silver and comes beautifully displayed in a black presentation case with a detailed storycard detailing the symbology of the coin.
