Lower numbers of the coins were minted in 1995 than in previous years, making the coins collectible and worth higher prices. The 1995-P Proof coin features the same design as in previous years. This coin is made using one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. It has a diameter of 40.60mm. This coin has been graded as PCGS proof 70 DCAM; it’s been individually packaged for safekeeping. Bullion Shark will have the coin delivered safely and securely to your home. The American silver eagle design has remained constant since the coins were first introduced into circulation in 1986. The obverse features an iconic image of Liberty, and the reverse depicts an eagle. These images are still being used on the coins today. Silver eagle coins history In 1995 the Silver eagle was struck at two mints, the Philadelphia Mint, which uses the P mintmark, and in much lower numbers at the West Point Mint, which incorporates the mintmark ‘W’ into the coin's design. 407,822 1995-P coins were minted. The Walking Liberty used on the coin’s obverse was designed by Adolph Weinman and used on the walking liberty half dollar coin between the years 1916 and 1947. This design is one of America's most striking and iconic images and is a favorite amongst collectors. Many people even believe that the silver eagle is the most beautiful coin ever minted in America. The coin's reverse was designed in 1986 by US Mint engraver John Mercanti’s. 1995 Silver Eagle value The value of American silver eagle coins varies depending on the year it was minted and the coin's condition. In 1995 proof Silver Eagle coins were sold by the mint to the general public for $23.00. Today their value has increased considerably, and 1995 proof coins are worth upwards of $370.
