Struck in Denver, CO from native Colorado gold. Clark, Gruber, and Company only struck coins in 1860 and 1861 as they transitioned from minting coins to making gold ingots. Their assay office was later sold to the United States Government and became a federal assay office, and then the Denver Mint.
