Description
Mint state 1893-CC Double Eagles are elusive and highly sought after, as there were only 18,402 coins minted. 1893 marks the final year of all gold coins produced at the Carson City Mint. The nearby Comstock Lode had also dried up in 1893, so raw gold would be in short supply. A conditional rarity in mint state grades as there is just one that grades higher, an MS63+.
