Description
PCGS authenticated and graded AU Details. Covered with uniform extremely fine granularity in the fields and protected areas, mostly hidden under rather glossy dark steel and olive brown toning. No verdigris or notable contact marks. The surfaces are satiny and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent although it may have been lightly cleaned and retoned long ago. The best identifying defect is some strike weakness at the top of ERT in LIBERTY. EDS, Breen state I, with an uncracked obverse. Finest known in the Bland census. Tied for CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #21708. This is the Noyes plate coin for the variety in his 1991 reference on the cents of 1793-1814.
