Description
PCGS authenticated and graded AU 50. Frosty olive brown and steel with some lighter brown in protected areas on the reverse. Sharply detailed with no marks, but there are traces of microscopic verdigris in some of the protected areas, mostly on the reverse. A tiny spot of lighter brown toning in the hair left of the ear lobe may help identify this cent. Shallow roughness from die scaling (not corrosion) shows in the obverse fields, strongest off the lower curls. MDS, Breen state III early, with a die crack from the rim through the D in UNITED gently arcing to the bottom of the E in ONE. Not evaluated by Noyes or Bland.
