Up for sale is a stunning 1894-S Liberty Head Gold Double Eagle ($20). This historic coin was struck at the San Francisco Mint during the height of the American Gilded Age. It has been professionally graded and encapsulated by PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service) at Mint State 62 (MS 62).
The 1894-S is widely recognized by numismatists as a "Better Date" in the Liberty Head series. While many $20 gold pieces were melted down following the Gold Reserve Act of 1934, this example survived in high-grade condition, retaining original mint luster and sharp, crisp details.
