Description
This is an EXCEPTIONALLY NICE, COMPETE SET (except of course for the 1856 FE cent) of Flying Eagle and Indian Head Cents from 1857 through 1909-S inclusive. Again- NO 1856 Flying Eagle. There are 59 coins, including a nice, very rare 1869/69 which has a VERY clear overdate (see pic). The collection is housed (except for the two certified coins) in a Whitman Bookshelf Album (No. 9402), Copyright 1960. The album is in excellent condition. All of the plastic slides are present and very clear. (In the album, 1869 over 69 was called 69 over 68 back then).
I grade the 1877 as F-VF. As grading is subjective, please use the photos to make your own determination. It has no issues or distractions, and especially nice color for an 1877. It's a nice one.
NONE of the coins were ever cleaned, and ALL are PROBLEM-FREE. No coins are damaged, and none have corrosion or environmental issues. They are higher grades than you typically see in a collection for sale. Most of the coins have PARTIAL OR FULL LIBERTY. Many of the later dates are EF, and there are 9 coins in the span of 1884 - 1908 that I would grade as AU. Again, please refer to the photos to make your own determinations.
The coins have been well-matched for color and eye appeal.
The 2 certified coins are an 1908-S ANACS VF 35 that should have graded EF, and a 1909-S PCGS VF 30. (I hit the limit of 24 photos, but if you want to see the reverses of the '08-S and '09-S, just ask, and I can send them. There are no issues with either of them.
Please see all of the photos, and please ask for additional photos of any coins you would like to see. I do not wish to break up the collection and sell the coins individually.
This would make for an unforgettable gift.
Any scratches that may appear in pictures with the holders are on the holders themselves, and NOT on the coins. The coins wouldn't have graded if they were scratched.
The 1864-L has a strong visible L. The 3 Flying Eagles are well-struck and really nice. You can easily see the Large Letters and Small Letters varieties on the two 1858 coins. 1886 is Type 1.
Shipping only within the US. Shipping is free. The collection will be shipped USPS Priority Express, which has next day delivery if possible. Signature will be required.
Thank you for looking.
