A key issue among circulation strike Trade Dollars, the 1878-CC hails from the lowest mintage for the series, just 97,000 pieces the vast majority of which were melted. Extremely desirable across all grade levels and distinctly rare in in Mint State, this eye catching MS61 is the finest of the issue we have had the pleasure of offering in many years! Exceedingly attractive considering the assigned grade, the surfaces beam with satiny luster that supports well-struck details. 90% untoned, touches of light golden-orange color are scattered along the borders. A handful of stray marks are present in accordance with the grade, but none are major, nor do they individually draw the eye.
