Welcome to Earlycoppercoins! I am the owner, Shawn A. Yancey, and I am a member of ANA and Early American Coppers, EAC #4647. I am pleased to offer the following item:
From the Furnace Run Fugio Cent Collection, 106 coins, 53 different varieties! Offered by Shawn A. Yancey from Earlycoppercoins: 1787 N10-T Fugio Cent PCGS EF45 1 Over 1 STATES UNITED W6705 R5-. From the Heritage auction of 06/06/13 where it sold for $14,100 as lot #4308 and was described as: “1787 STATES UNITED Fugio Cent, XF45. Scarce 1 Over Horizontal 1, Newman 10-T. 1787 1C Fugio Cent, STATES UNITED, 1/Horizontal 1 XF45 PCGS. N. 10-T, W-6705, R.5. The well-known but very scarce engraver's blunder with the 1 in the date initially entered horizontal to its proper position. A pleasing medium brown Fugio copper with surfaces that are surprisingly free from marks or flan striations. Population: 2 in 45, 1 finer (4/13). Listed on page 87 of the 2013 Guide Book.” This coin is incredibly sharp with bold details on both sides. The obverse color is gorgeous and glossy medium chocolate brown, while the reverse shows some signs of oxidizing while in the holder. Would be a GREAT candidate for a re-holder with variety attribution and a quick brushing! Purchased on eBay in 2020 for $16,546. PCGS certification# 886.45/25026854.
