A very scarce date with a mintage of 56,000 and very few survivors. Most were melted during the Civil War and Reconstruction era. Only a single mint state coin is known. This VF20 example shows pleasing even wear with all major details clear, including a well-outlined Liberty figure. The reverse eagle retains strong feather and shield definition for the grade, complemented by natural, original silver-gray surfaces. A solid mid-grade representative of this scarce quarter.
