Description
PCGS 2002-D Tennessee state quarter struck on a clad dime planchet. The coin is far smaller than a normal quarter, with much of the design missing. It is the weight and metal of a clad Roosevelt dime, and was struck on one that was fed into a quarter press and struck. Very eye-catching and dramatic in appearance.
Excessively rare state quarter struck on clad dime planchet, with this being (likely) the finest of 2 known for this state struck on 10c planchets. There are only about 15 known state quarters on dime planchets for the entire state quarter series. This example has blazing white, pristine surfaces, and has superb eye-appeal. Very tough coin to find for sale!
PCGS MS65 lustrous white and great eye-appeal.
