1869 U.S. Liberty Seated Quarter - Rare Date - Very Rare in Mint State Condition
PCGS MS63 'Rattler' Holder
RARITY. 1869 Liberty Seated Quarter, low-mintage Philadelphia issue, with only 16,000 coins struck. An early mint state strike, mostly white brillant, with amazing mirror reflective surfaces displaying semi cameo centers on this Rare With Motto date. A very strong strike along with fully detailed devices on both the obverse and reverse.
A rarely offered "rare date" issue that is mounted in a PCGS 'Rattler' (1986-1987) certified holder from an "old collection." PCGS population: only 7 pieces graded MS63 and only 6 graded higher. There are light hairlines from the "old collection" keeping this pleasing rarity from receiving a higher grade by PCGS.
The PCGS 'Rattler' certified holder has some light marks on the plastic case that are not distracting from the overall beauty of this very special Liberty Seated Quarter.
