Description
This listing is for a 1949 S Lincoln Cent certified NGC MS68☆RD. Very high end superb gem example. At the time of listing this coin was the sole finest 1949 S Cent known at either PCGS and NGC. At the time of listing this was also the only MS68☆RD across the entire series from 1909-1958 at NGC. This excludes 2 Red and Brown examples and a steel ☆.....But just this single red bronze example. At MS68RD there is usually a high expectation to have superior eye-appeal as it is, so to grade MS68RD, and have it designated ☆ for eye appeal is no small thing!
The ☆ was issued by the grader to highlight the exceptional eye appeal on the coin. The coin has a razer sharp strike and was struck from newly polished dies. The effect gives the appearance of a satiny, and almost cameo look despite the matte like textured coin. I've sold a lot of coins. This is by far the most impressive Lincoln Cent I have ever encountered. Please see the pics for details. Thanks for looking!
