Description
Welcome to Earlycoppercoins! I am the owner, Shawn A. Yancey, and I am a member of ANA and Early American Coppers, EAC #4647. I am pleased to offer the following item:
From the Furnace Run Fugio Cent Collection, 106 coins, 53 different varieties! Offered by Shawn A. Yancey from Earlycoppercoins: 1787 N19-Z Fugio Cent PCGS AU53 Raised Rims Reverse W6975 R4. From the Heritage auction of 06/06/13 as lot #4309, where it was described as: “1787 STATES UNITED Fugio Cent, AU53. Raised Rim, Newman 19-Z. 1787 1C Fugio Cent, STATES UNITED, Raised Rim AU53 PCGS. N. 19-Z, W-6975, R.5. The curious Raised Rim "Z" reverse is best appreciated in better grades, which show clear definition on the incused lettering of UNITED STATES. The "Z" reverse is likely a pattern design, as it was initially paired with the rare No Cinquefoils, Cross after Date obverse. The present walnut-brown Newman 19-Z example is unabraded with a straight mint-made edge clip at 3 o'clock and a couple of flan flaws on the right-side rays. Listed on page 87 of the 2013 Guide Book.” The coin sold for $7,050 back in that 2013, and I purchased it from Tom Reynolds on 04/28/22, my stock# 12293. Compares favorably with another N19-Z graded PCGS as AU53 and being offered elsewhere on eBay at $13,500. PCGS certification# 895.53/27404850.
