From the Furnace Run Fugio Cent Collection, 106 coins, 53 different varieties! Offered by Shawn A. Yancey from Earlycoppercoins: 1787 N12-KK Fugio Cent PCGS EF45 STATES UNITED 4 Cinq W6835 R5+. From the Heritage auction on 02/07/13, where this was lot #3025 and described as: “1787 1C Fugio Cent, STATES UNITED, 4 Cinquefoils, Pointed Rays XF45 PCGS. N. 12-KK, W-6835, R.6. A rare die variety in a better grade. The fields are dark olive-brown and the devices are deep lavender. One strike-through overlaps the F in FUGIO. The lower reverse die break is usual for this challenging marriage. Listed on page 87 of the 2013 Guide Book.” The coin sold for $3,290 way back in 2013 and was purchased from CVM in 2020. Now considered an R5+ variety instead of R6, yet still quite difficult to locate in this condition. PCGS certification# 883.45/26269510.
