Description
Offered is a 1793 Liberty Cap Half Cent coin with a head facing left. It is composed of copper and was circulated during the latter part of the 18th century. The coin was minted in Philadelphia and is certified by PCGS with a full grade of G04. Most available pieces of this coin usually exhibit some problems such as corrosion, verdigris or environmental damage and will receive a "details" only designation. This one, however, is a very nice, clean example exhibiting smooth chocolate brown surfaces, both front & back with a full grade of G04. The central Liberty figure, date, and legends are easily readable without magnification. As the very first year of this denomination (1793), it is a rare piece of American currency and will be a valuable addition to any coin collection, showcasing the striking liberty cap design from the late 18th century.
