Description
PCGS authenticated and graded AU 53. Glossy light chocolate brown with deeper charcoal in some protected areas. Softly struck a bit on the left obverse at OV in NOVA and PLU in PLURIBUS. The reverse is also rotated about 30 degrees CCW. Smooth to the naked high, traces of microgranularity under a glass but it hardly detracts from the eye appeal. Listed on the bottom of page 419 in the 2013 book; "New Jersey State Coppers" by Siboni, Howes, and Ish as 'Spiro 1955, lot 1562' Among the finer survivors of this popular Serpent Head variety. 119.7 grains.
