It is my pleasure to introduce this PCGS MS65 $20 Gold Double Eagle specimen from 1900 Philadelphia. Zoom in on the pictures provided! A gleaming example with a golden shine, barely unscathed in the turn-of-the-century corkscrew-era minting processes. A tiny bit of light chatter on the cheek. The same on the back of Lady Liberty’s neck. The reverse shown really nothing at all. And that’s about it! When I search out high-quality, Pre-1933 Gold Double Eagles, it is this kind of example I search for and have found!
It was a $20 Gold Double Eagle, graded an MS66 by PCGS, that sold at auction by Heritage Auctions in 2005 for $17,400 in 2005. THIS MS65 coin I am offering looks dollar-for-dollar, as-good-as the MS66 that sold at auction! Again, check out those photos I provided. This coin, with just 45 coins graded higher by PCGS, is a beautiful rarity. It deserves your consideration if you’re a discriminating buyer that appreciates true beauty when they see it.
