Description
GEM PROOF. ONLY 75 STRUCK. In proof format, the 1857 Trime is an important coin for the advanced numismatic buyer. First, the issue has an unreported, presumably limited original mintage. Second, survivors are rare and probably number fewer than 50 coins. Third, and finally, it is a representative of the Type II Three-Cent Silver-a design that can be challenging to locate in higher grades both as a proof and a business strike.
