VERY CHOICE SATIN LUSTROUS SURFACES. TIED FOR HIGHEST GRADED. The 1843 is an important, early-date Liberty Quarter Eagle for advanced type purposes. An original mintage of 100,546 pieces is fairly generous by the standards of the 1840s, and circulated survivors are obtainable with patience. Such peices are still quite scarce when viewed in the wider context of the Liberty Quarter Eagle series. Additionally, the 1843 is a major condition rarity even in the lowest Mint State grades.
