Description
NO STARS, LARGE DATE. GEM SURFACES KISSED WITH LIGHT AQUAMARINE TONING. TIED FOR HIGHEST GRADED AT PCGS. The 1837 is the first issue in the Seated Half Dime series, and it is one of only two deliveries of the No Stars Obverse type. The Mint employed two different date logotypes to strike 1,405,000 1837 Half Dimes, and the Large Date is just a bit more plentiful than the Small Date in today's market. In reality, however, both varieties of this issue enjoy equally strong demand among both circulated and Mint State type collectors.
