GEM SATIN SURFACES. TIED FOR HIGHEST GRADED AT PCGS. The final O-mint Gold Dollar of the Type I design, the 1853-O is also the most frequently encountered in numismatic circles. Although generally obtainable in circulated and Uncirculated grades through MS-62, the '53-O is conditionally scarce in MS-63, very scarce in MS-64 and rare at or above the MS-65 level.
