The key-date issue in the Draped Bust Cent series, the 1799 has an unreported mintage that is included in the figure of 1.8 million pieces for the 1798 delivery. There are only three known die marriages for this issue, S-188 being the 1799/8 overdate, NC-1 being a noncollectible variety of the same and S-189 being the normal date. Survivors of all three die marriages are eagerly sought in today's market and will continue to grow in popularity as more and more buyers enter the market.
