1886-O $1 NGC MS64

Popular and scarce New Orleans Mint issue, especially tough in high grades. From a mintage north of 10 million coins, a surprising few have survived in choice UNC! Reports list 36 MS64+ known with just six MS65 and a single MS65+ finer. Needless to say, the price jumps handily in MS64 and finer grades. Even golden hues grace both sides, bolstered by intense swirling luster. Slightly weakly struck in the centers, an artifact typical of O-Mint coinage, most other details are strong. Overall, a pleasing example of this tough issue, this piece is ready for inclusion in your high-end Morgan set!
