Description

Repunched Date on the 1. The date is Tied For Second Finest at CAC base with only 1 finer at PCGS a MS67+. This 1903 Barber Dime stands among the finest known survivors of the date and delivers a compelling blend of rarity, vibrant album toning, and technical superiority. While 1903 is a common date in circulated grades due to its large mintage of over 19.5 million coins, it is the single rarest P-Mint in Mint State. Premium Gem and Superb Gem Mint State examples are decidedly rare, and truly exceptional specimens such as this one are seldom seen. With only seven coins graded MS67 by PCGS and just one finer, and a mere four approved by CAC at this level with none fIner, this piece comfortably resides within the elite condition census for the issue. Visually, the coin is a showpiece. The obverse glows with a champagne-gold center surrounded by concentric rings of rose-gold, lilac, and electric blue, intensified by lavender and magenta accents around the periphery. A full, crisp strike delivers razor-sharp with softly frosted texture and radiant cartwheel luster throughout. The reverse offers a dramatic target-toned aesthetic, with a pale silver core giving way to a saturated halo of tangerine, violet-blue, and cobalt, punctuated by hints of aqua-green. Surfaces are untouched and original, retaining their mint bloom and supporting the coin’s superior eye appeal and technical integrity. This 1903 Barber Dime presents with vibrant, well-balanced color and impressive technical precision. The combination of multicolor album toning, full strike, and luster makes it ideal for a high-grade type set or a toning-focused Registry collection. As Jeff Ambio in his Barber Dime book states the 1903 10c in MS67 is the second most underrated date second to 1907.
