Description
This high-end 1867 Indian Cent, certified Red, is an impressively preserved example of this challenging early bronze issue, offering a bold, confident strike and smooth, satiny luster that glows in rich red orange tone. The obverse displays a vibrant interplay of amber, honey-gold, and peach-rose accents, with Liberty’s portrait framed by orange- pinkish shimmer. Both sides exhibit uniform texture, strong cartwheel activity, and notably clean surfaces free from meaningful carbon or abrasion. With a survival estimate of only 200 pieces in Red and a PCGS population of just 8 coins graded at this level with 5 finer, plus the last auction result of another example of a 65+ RD 4 years ago for an inferior example for $7,800 08/22 HA, this example stands out as an immensely appealing representative of the date—both for its quality and its exceptional visual presence.
