Description
This 1839 Booby Head Large Cent represents one of the finest Mint State examples - certified PCGS MS65 Red and Brown and approved by CAC traced back to one of 50 favorite coins of the Queen Of American Numismatics - Catherine Bullowa. Both sides display a pleasing, well-balanced reddish-brown complexion highlighted by meaningful traces of surviving mint red—most visible in protected areas around Liberty’s curls, the stars, and within the wreath and lettering—giving the coin a lively and original appearance. The surfaces are smooth and satiny, retaining original mint texture and gentle cartwheel motion, with clean, even fields that fully support the grade. Even more impressive is this coins pedigree including prior inclusion in the reknowned painter Masters-Ahumada holdings, the Arizona Collection, Col Ellsworth and others and traced back to 1956.
