1858-S $20 Liberty Head Double Eagle NGC MS-61 Ex.SS Republic

Ex.S.S. Republic. Last offered by Great Collections on Dec. 3, 2023. This specimen realized $11,138 at the time. We do show another Mint State-61 specimen that sold in January of 2017 during the FUN show. It brought $12,925 then during what appeared to be spirited bidding. What we see here are really crisp and flashy surfaces and a few contact tick marks, mostly on the obverse. There is a microscopic line just on the chin.
